Rare Shopagear has been recognized by Retail Business Review Magazine as the exclusive recipient of “Top Retail Display Solution in APAC 2026,” based on our proprietary methodology, reflecting its position in the industry, and is also named among “Top Digital Display Companies In APAC,” reflecting its broader leadership. This profile has been developed by the Retail Business Review research and editorial team based on insights from an interview with Simon Piskor, Owner.
Simon Piskor, OwnerHow does integrated retail display execution improve consistency across national store deployments?
Retail campaign performance is decided on the sales floor. Displays must meet retailer specifications, fit the physical store environment and perform consistently across locations. When design, production and installation operate separately, even minor changes in materials, timing or assembly can lead to uneven execution during large-scale deployment.
Founded in 2013 and headquartered in Sydney, Rare Shopagear aligns concept with installation from the outset. Ideation, engineering, manufacturing and national rollout are managed within one integrated framework, resolving logistics and retailer requirements before production begins.
What differentiates Rare Shopagear is its hands-on experience. The team has worked across store design, brand management, manufacturing, warehousing and dispatch, advancing from factory floors and junior roles to overseeing national implementation. That progression shapes how briefs are interpreted, ensuring concepts are practical to build, transport and install in real retail environments.
“We are not an agency outsourcing execution or a factory producing external designs. We are a custom solutions think tank turning vision into commercial reality,” explains Owner Simon Piskor.
Validating Ideas before They Scale
Why must retail display concepts be validated for manufacturing logistics and store realities?
Owning the process allows Rare Shopagear to move beyond execution and work with clients to test and validate briefs. Concepts are refined, and sometimes redirected, before scaling to ensure commercial viability.
Each solution is bespoke, developed from scratch within manufacturing realities. Retailer point-of-sale standards, transport constraints and brand objectives are examined together before approval, and concepts that cannot scale efficiently are revised early to prevent redesign and production misalignment. This scrutiny shortens activation timelines and aligns factory output with field delivery.
ATL and BTL assets are integrated into displays to connect media exposure with the in-store experience. Interactive elements such as Lift and Learn and Place and Learn technologies are introduced selectively, only when they strengthen engagement and add measurable visual impact.
Coordinated Execution across Retail Networks
How does coordinated supply chain execution support large scale retail display rollouts?
Execution across multiple formats requires disciplined coordination. Rare Shopagear works with experienced activation and supply chain partners, several with relationships extending beyond two decades. This continuity supports consistent delivery and enables timely responses when unforeseen circumstances demand it, be it across a national major retailer chain or a few independent stores.
Operational insight has driven product innovation. The modular Pallet Guard was developed to address durability and safety challenges in high-traffic pallet displays. Built for structural strength and scale, it prioritizes real-world performance over decorative appeal.
Installations are engineered for longevity, with many remaining in strong condition more than five years after deployment. This durability protects capital investment and sustains brand visibility over time.
Clients highlight Rare Shopagear’s ability to translate renders into finished installations with precision. Final products closely match approved visualizations, reducing uncertainty between concept and execution.
From Clinic Refresh to Commercial Impact
How can retail environment redesign translate physical space improvements into measurable revenue growth?
Rare Shopagear’s consultative approach is evident in its collaboration with Primary Dental. Initially engaged to update wallpaper and signage, the team conducted site visits and reframed the brief. Instead of surface adjustments, it introduced timber cladding, floating shelves, illuminated signage and integrated LED screens to shape the reception space. The outcome extended beyond aesthetics. Retail sales increased as patients browsed products while waiting and the LED screens created a new digital advertising revenue stream.
Today, Rare Shopagear supports brands including Procter & Gamble, Adidas, Amazon, Mars, Diageo and Aesop across national retail networks.
Its differentiation lies not in decorative creativity alone but in ownership of the entire execution chain. For brands, the challenge is less generating ideas than delivering them across diverse retail environments without friction.
Rare Shopagear addresses that challenge by validating briefs early, aligning design with feasibility manufacturing and coordinating delivery through installation. The result is retail display execution that is practical, scalable and built to convert shoppers into customers across national retail environments.
