Bettapak has been recognized by Retail Business Review Magazine as the exclusive recipient of “E-commerce 3PL and 4PL Services of the Year in APAC 2026,” based on our proprietary methodology, reflecting its position in the industry, and is also named among “Top Retail Logistics Companies In APAC,” reflecting its broader leadership. This profile has been developed by the Retail Business Review research and editorial team based on insights from an interview with Brent Johnston, Managing Director.
Brent Johnston, Managing DirectorFor e-commerce brands, logistics coordination often becomes fragmented as operations expand. Warehousing, transport, fulfilment, purchasing and packaging are frequently handled by different providers, leading to multiple workflows, disconnected information flows and limited visibility across the supply chain.
Bettapak operates as a centralised logistics partner that brings these functions together within an integrated framework. The single operating structure enables logistics activity to move through one coordinated workflow with a single point of contact and a consolidated weekly invoice.
Founded in 2006 and headquartered in Australia, Bettapak delivers 3PL and 4PL services for brands operating at scale.
“E-commerce brands quickly realise that we don’t operate as a traditional warehouse provider,” says Brent Johnston, managing director. “We function as an extension of their business, managing the full logistics ecosystem that extends beyond order fulfilment.”
Coordinating Logistics Through a Single Operational Structure
Centralised reporting allows brands to track costs, delivery performance and operational activity across the network through a single interface. When order volumes surge, transport disruptions occur or new products are launched, workloads can be redistributed across the network and transport strategies can be adjusted to maintain continuity.
Consolidation resolves the friction created by fragmented supplier networks. One fast-growing consumer goods e-commerce brand, preparing for large-scale promotional campaigns across multiple states, needed help with its system of separate warehousing partners, freight providers and packaging suppliers. The fragmented setup was causing inconsistent logistics costs, dispatch delays and a heavier administrative burden on its internal team.
Bettapak brought warehousing, transport coordination, and packaging supply into a single workflow and aligned packaging supply with fulfilment demand, reducing packaging shortages and the need for last-minute replenishment orders. Dispatch timelines improved and freight costs stabilised. All logistics expenses were consolidated into a single, weekly invoice. This structure also reduced the client’s administrative workload, allowing its internal team to focus on campaign planning and growth initiatives.
“Our role is to sit behind the brand and coordinate the moving parts of logistics, so their teams can stay focused on sales, product and customer growth,” says Johnston.
Coordinated Visibility and Execution Across the Network
As operations scale, live logistics data flows across connected systems and transport portals, giving teams real-time visibility into activity across locations. This shared view feeds into system-driven updates and operational decisions. It supports more proactive inventory positioning, with stock repositioned ahead of demand shifts to reduce risk.
E-commerce brands quickly realise that we don’t operate as a traditional warehouse provider. We function as an extension of their business, managing the full logistics ecosystem that extends beyond order fulfilment.
Retailers with strict delivery windows often require stock to sit within a two-day delivery radius of their stores. By analysing delivery performance data across the network, Bettapak enables clients to strategically position inventory within specific states to meet retailer compliance requirements and maintain strong service levels.
Transport options can also be adjusted as order patterns evolve, ensuring delivery strategies remain aligned with demand. Automated notifications are configured during onboarding to match each team's preferred operating model. Shipment notifications are generated within the system at dispatch and sent directly to end customers, easing pressure on customer service teams and eliminating manual follow-up.
The framework also supports fulfilment across multiple sales channels, bringing retail, wholesale and direct-to-consumer orders from marketplaces into the same fulfilment environment. Although each channel carries its own fulfilment requirements, a shared inventory environment ensures accuracy and consistency as volumes scale.
Predictable Scale Without Operational Disruption
Execution at scale is reinforced through Bettapak’s national footprint. A network of distribution centres across every capital city allows the option for orders to be fulfilled from alternate locations. The arrangement improves delivery reliability and enables same-day or next-day options. Clients don’t need to manage split inventory, routing decisions or carrier management themselves.
Inventory placement across this network is guided by order density and delivery zones, together with freight economics. Fast-moving SKUs are positioned across multiple capital city locations to support rapid delivery expectations, while slower-moving products remain centralised to reduce holding costs. The balance allows brands to meet delivery timelines without unnecessary freight distances or excessive inventory distribution that erode margins.
Transport cost pressure is managed through a flexible mix of carriers and delivery methods that can be adjusted as conditions evolve, supporting both delivery speed and cost efficiency.
Integrated Fulfilment Operations
Packaging and fulfilment operations are integrated into Bettapak’s warehouse workflows, with pick-and-pack, order consolidation and dispatch structured to maintain speed and accuracy as volumes fluctuate. Goods move from inbound receipt through to dispatch within a single, continuous process.
Packaging supply used across manufacturing and distribution is managed through its packaging and consumables division. Aligning packaging procurement with fulfilment demand helps streamline sourcing, maintain packaging consistency, and prevent supply disruptions.
Returns handling and reverse logistics are managed within the same fulfilment environment, enabling customer returns to be processed without parallel systems or additional vendor dependencies.
Operations are supported by compliance and quality frameworks aligned with regulated product categories, including food and consumer goods. Maintaining industry-recognised standards, such as HACCP compliance and SEDEX approval, enable it to support brands with strict safety, traceability and audit requirements without compromising throughput and fulfilment speed.
Bettapak also supports international freight and export coordination, enabling e-commerce brands to extend distribution beyond Australia while retaining centralised operational oversight and execution control.
System Intelligence Behind Everyday Decisions
Orders are allocated across Bettapak’s network through a central allocation system that uses inventory data across channels and locations. The platform supports advanced fulfilment requirements such as multi-location dispatch, product bundling and cross-client collaboration orders, routing orders automatically based on service requirements and location rules.
The system connects warehouse and transport operations within a single operating environment, supporting order routing, performance monitoring, and network coordination. A centralised operating environment ensures that every facility functions within the same operational framework. Orders are routed through postcode logic, service-level agreements and customer-specific rules embedded in the platform, positioning each distribution centre as part of a coordinated, national ecosystem.
“Technology gives us the structure for consistency across the network, but experienced operators remain critical in adapting execution as conditions change,” says Johnston.
Orders are still manually packed at the final stage, allowing teams to combine shipments, add collaborative orders or accommodate last-minute changes that automated systems cannot anticipate. Technology supports speed and accuracy, while experienced logistics teams retain the flexibility required for day-to-day execution.
Clients point to Bettapak’s responsiveness and flexibility as defining strengths, particularly when volumes shift, delivery requirements change or campaign timelines compress. As an independently owned business, it has the ability to adapt quickly to help brands maintain continuity and service levels in fast-moving e-commerce environments. Recognition of this operating model has resulted in Bettapak being named E-commerce 3PL and 4PL Services of the Year in APAC 2026.
As order volumes increase and distribution networks expand, Bettapak continues to coordinate logistics through a single operating model, giving brands clear oversight and consistent fulfilment performance as they scale.
